Our Community

Community involvement is central to and an extension of Meehan, Boyle, Black & Bogdanow. It is at the heart of what we do and who we are.

Meehan, Boyle, Black & Bogdanow partners with, sponsors, and supports a variety of community organizations and activities. From helping with meal preparation and meal service at Pine Street Inn, to participating in a charitable golf tournament for the East Boston and Charlestown YMCAs, to sponsoring the annual SquashBusters Derby, we work hard to support and stay connected to our communities.

Our lawyers and staff have volunteered with Veterans Administration facilities, the Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, the Greater Boston Food Bank, Boston Children’s Museum, Pine Street Inn, Daily Table, and others.

We support pro bono and legal aid organizations, including Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, Greater Boston Legal Services, Massachusetts Bar Foundation, MBA Access to Justice, Equal Justice Coalition (EJC), Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC), Metro West Legal Services, Justice Bridge (UMass Law Foundation), Massachusetts Correctional Legal Services, Lawyers Clearinghouse on Affordable Housing, Jewish Alliance for Social Action, Immigrant Learning Services, Veteran's Legal Services, BBA/ Volunteer Lawyers Project. 

Attorney John J. Carroll authored "Voices of MLAC,” which is a collection of narratives that traces the origins of civil legal aid in Massachusetts, and details the vital services provided by the 14 civil legal aid programs funded by MLAC (Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation.) This compilation is used in a variety of formats by civil legal aid programs to assist with outreach, legislative advocacy, and other educational efforts.

Our attorneys serve or have served on the board of several community organizations including Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, Greater Boston Legal Services, Pine Street Inn, and Justice Bridge (UMass Law Foundation).

We sponsor fundraising events for Greater Boston Legal Services, Equal Justice Coalition, Pine Street Inn, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, Justice Bridge (UMass Law Foundation), and Metro West Legal Services.

The firm makes donations to various organizations at different times. Recently, the firm made charitable donations to the following organizations centering on racial justice – the National Police Accountability Project, Lawyers for Civil Rights Boston, and Prisoner’s Legal Services of Massachusetts.
