Suleyken Walker is the firm's newest associate. Ms. Walker arrived at the firm with a diverse professional background working as a lawyer and non-lawyer, and is thrilled to have found a home at Meehan, Boyle, Black and Bogdanow, where she can continue to use the skills she learned along the way to represent our clients both as a trial advocate and an appellate attorney. Ms. Walker has represented individuals in a variety of cases, including civil rights violations, defective product claims, and cases involving injuries sustained during construction projects and recreational activities. Immediately prior to joining Meehan, Boyle, Black and Bogdanow, Ms. Walker worked as an associate at the law firm of Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak and Cohen where she concentrated her practice in the areas of contract disputes and product liability litigation. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable James F. McHugh of the Massachusetts Appeals Court (2002-2004), and during law school she clerked for the Honorable Reginald C. Lindsay of the Federal District Court, District of Massachusetts. Before entering law school, Ms. Walker spent several years in the Massachusetts state legislature, first as a Legislative Aide to State Representative Stephen Kulik and later as Legislative Director to State Senator Susan Tucker. Ms. Walker also served for two years as the Executive Director for the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators. Ms. Walker is an enthusiastic proponent of participating in bar association activities, as well as involvement with civic life generally. She was recently appointed to serve on the Boston Bar Association's task force on the right to counsel in civil cases, and as a member of the BBA's Public Interest Leadership Program. Ms. Walker is chair of the Boston Bar Association's New Lawyer's Section pro bono committee, and serves on the Association's legislative advisory board. Ms. Walker is also a member of the Women's Bar Association, and has been a member of the Women's Actions for New Direction national board of directors for over ten years. Ms. Walker is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor's degree magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2002.
